As CEO of ABHI, the UK’s leading healthtech trade association, Peter plays an important role in representing industry needs with government and the NHS, ensuring growth and patient access to technologies. Peter sits on the Life Sciences Council, the Health Technology Partnership, and several expert groups that inform delivery of the Life Sciences Vision. He is on the Advisory Group and a workstream Chair for the Innovation System Programme that Roland Sinker is overseeing on behalf of NHS England. He is a Board member of the OSCHR, the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative and Health Innovation Oxford & Thames Valley. Peter previously chaired the health economy workstream of the London Health Commission. He also advises the Department of Health and Social Care’s MedTech Strategy Programme Board.
An experienced supporter of global trade, he was appointed by the Department for Business and Trade as an advisor for its Healthcare UK programme and FTA work, and he has overseen the growth of ABHI’s US Accelerator since its 2017 inception. Through ABHI’s membership of the GMTA, and strong bilateral relationships with key global trade associations, Peter leads collaboration with international peers to advocate for industry-critical policies, including compliance, sustainability, data and digital. Peter has 40 years’ experience in the UK and across Europe, and holds non-executive roles with early stage healthtech companies.
