Guy Northover

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Guy works clinically within the early intervention in psychosis team. He is the Trust’s Chief Clinical Information Officer, Clinical Safety Officer and Lead Clinical Director.

Nationally Guy is the immediate past appointed National Clinical Lead for the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) project for Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services which is identifying and rectifying unwarranted variations in care through all CYPMH services. He chairs the specialist commissioning clinical reference data subgroup and works closely with the NHS England policy and improvement teams. Guy is the Finance Officer for the faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and undertakes the role of Faculty Quality Improvement Lead. He is a member of the Digital SIG and sits on the Informatics Committee.

Guy is an expert advisor for the NICE Centre for Guidelines having inputted into the guidelines on self harm and also management of acne. Guy is involved in a number of research projects with a particular focus on CAMHS inpatient and crisis services but also the impact of acne on mental health.

Guy is a co-founder of a successful digital tech start-up which, through the use of large language models and natural language processing, automates mental healthcare pathways and complex mental health assessments (such as autism) and reduces the clinical administrative burden by over 75%.
